The McConnell's: 2009

Khaner turned Twelve!!! I don't think he ever thought that would happen. He can offically stay home alone. We are all thankful for that. We went with some friend's to the Family Fun Center. We had fun riding the rides.

Well the school year is over and summer is under way. Khaner made it through the Sixth grade and is ready for Seventh. He earned the Presidential Academic Award. He also recieved a full ride scholarship to any Washington state college when he graduates. He needs to maintain a 2.o average and not commit a felony. I'm worried about the felony criteria. Just Kidding!!! The kids had an end of year party at Sprinker Center where they could ice skate, skateboard, or play tennis. They all seemed to have a good time.

Michael was part of the Second Grade Musical. He is making great strides in speaking we are so proud of him.

He was part of his first Pinewood Derby this year and loved it. I think Mike had alittle more fun in designing the car but they spent some fun time together. Now he's having fun at Cub Scout camp Pirates of the Carribean.

Quinn is off and running into Eighth grade. He left Seventh with all A's and B's which is awesome. Quinn also qualified for the full ride scholarship from the State of Washington. So my Kids should be college bound. Quinn will be going to Scout Camp in a couple weeks. He's looking forward to earing his rifeling merit badge. He'll be the oldest one at camp from the troop so the Scout Master said he can come and go as he pleases as long as he stays out of trouble. Khaner will be going to camp as well this year so this ought to be interesting.

Okay, Okay, Okay,..... I suck at this blogging thing I know. I don't just suck I royally blow. I think about it all the time but as you can see this is more like a year in review as apposed to a blog. As you can tell from the time though it's this or sleep. So today the blog won. Things in our house are still pretty busy. Finn's still in therapy twice a week out of the home and once a week in home. Quinn's doing Scouts although not aggressively more as a social scene. He did tell me today that he wants to go out for basketball. I'm excited for that. It will be fun to go and cheer him on. Khaner still has no desire to do anything extra but hangout with his friends and play video games. Finn's doing really well I think. His last scheduled IVIG is Feb 6th. After that I'm not sure what the doctor will want to do. He's really trying to talk and it seems that he's saying new things every day. Yesterday when it snowed as we were coming out of church he squealed SNOWING!!! I'ld have to say my favorite word that he says is choo choo because he puckers up his lips so much. He's been working on blowing bubbles but it's more like spitting. Owen is a kick in the pants. He has some of the best facial expressions. It's hilarious when you ask him a questiona dn he looks at you then rolls his eyes with this big grin on his face. Mike's plugging along at work trying to wittle down our crew to a profitable size. He's looking at branching out some maybe doing some limosine service. I'll wait and see. As for me same old same old. I am the Art Docent at the elementary school. I'm really enjoying it. I'm learning tons about art history and coming up with projects for the kids. I think that I need to go back to school though. Maybe take some on-line classes. I still want to work in the classroom as a teacher of some kind. Well enjoy all the pics and don't fret I'll down load more later.

Khaner had a 6th grade concert last Thursday. I'm very proud of him for at least moving his lips to the words.
